Bergstrom Subaru of Oshkosh Loves to Care! - Brenda K.

On Monday, June 15, Blood Cancer United and Bergstrom Subaru of Oshkosh came together at the Aurora Vince Lombardi Cancer Center in Oshkosh for a meaningful Subaru Loves to Care blanket delivery. The timing was especially exciting, as the cancer center was preparing to open Phase One of its newly renovated wing the very next day. Despite the many priorities and celebrations happening across the center, the deep partnership between Aurora, Subaru, and Blood Cancer United was on full display. More than 18 oncology nurses, physicians, and administrative team members joined us to express their gratitude and celebrate the impact of this longstanding collaboration. Bergstrom Subaru was represented by Brad and Grant, who helped deliver more than 230 handwritten messages of hope and encouragement collected from Bergstrom employees and customers. While we did not have the opportunity to connect directly with patients during this visit, the stories shared by care teams about past deliveries and the meaningful impact these messages have on patients made the experience especially memorable. Hearing firsthand how these simple acts of kindness bring comfort, connection, and hope to individuals facing cancer was a powerful reminder of why this partnership continues to matter so deeply. The day served as a celebration not only of a new chapter for the cancer center, but also of the collective commitment to supporting patients and families throughout their cancer journey.

Who let the dogs out? Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh Loves Dogs - Colin D.

When Subaru says that they love pets, they really mean it! Every year, Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh hosts an event called: Subaru Loves Dogs, and the entire place literally 'goes to the dogs'. They have Dock Dogs national competition jumpers and they have also had a dog agility program. Not only do they have these programs, but they have local animal shelters: Oshkosh Area Humane Society, Neenah Animal Shelter, and the Fond du Lac Humane Society there showcasing their adoptable animals. To make this an even more outstanding event, they have grooming provided by Tail Wagger's, and a professional photographer taking pet pics. This even runs over two days, and there are so many happy smiles...not just from the humans, but also all of the fur babies. This event brings together the Subaru Love for Pets and also helping the local animal shelters get some much needed donations. There have been a few animals adopted from this amazing event. I don't think that any other Subaru location does anything on this level, except maybe one other location.

It take a village - Make A Wish - Kris T.

Every year Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh joins with other locations to help support Make A Wish Wisconsin grant wishes for special kids and their families to help take their minds off of treatments and to just be themselves. Every year, listening to the families share their stories has brought more than one 'tough guy' to tears. This past year we were able to grant a very special young lady her wish. Our Make A Wish kid's name was Sara. Sara is a happy, go lucky 4 year old from the Winnebago County area. She loves animals, spending time outside and practicing her faith. She was diagnosed with leukemia and her family's world turned upside down. Her life has been consumed with rigorous treatments, chemotherapy, doctor's appointments and a wide array of medications to help manage her critical condition. When Sara found out that she qualified for a wish, she was so excited and knew right away that her one true wish was to go to the Ark Encounter amusement park in Kentucky to see a life-size replica of Noah's Ark. Sara was able to learn about the different animals that were part of the biblical ark, the timeline of the flood, Noah's living quarters and so much more! She was able to experience her favorite biblical story like never before, all while spending a relaxing week with her family visiting different places in Williamstown, Kentucky. This wish, along with so many other wishes could not be granted without the 'village' that includes Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh. Thank you for all you do in helping support and grant wishes for these amazing kids and their families.

Subaru Loves Learning - Grant K.

We have been partnering with Valley Christian School for several years now and we couldn't think of a better partnership! Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh along with Adopt-a-Classroom have been able to grant 10 teachers $500 to get the necessary items needed for their classrooms that maybe the annual budget wouldn't allow or cover. There have been some absolutely amazing items purchased for the individual classrooms, too many to begin to list. These items have supported STEM learning, adaptive tools for special learners, and everyday supplies. Our staff and guests donated additional supplies for the teachers...not only the ones that were chosen to be adopted, but for the entire school campus. One of our dedicated guests, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased about 20 backpack, school supplies, and Bath and Body hand soaps. The teachers were all grateful and blown away by the donations and being chosen as recipients of the grants.

We were again able to partner with Father Carr's in Oshkosh for the Subaru Loves to Help initiative. This has been a far reaching initiative between Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh and Father Carr's for the past 8 years. Over that time, not only have we partnered to help those in need with donations of waterproof blankets, sock, shoes and winter coats but also with non perishable food items. We were told that not only does our support help those in need in the Oshkosh community, but has reached out as far as mission outreach stations in the Appalachian Mountain region. We are grateful for this partnership and look forward to many more years of helping those in need alongside our family, Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh.

Earth Day 2026 - Jim M.

I know that I'm a little bit behind, but I wanted to shout out the Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh team for taking time out of their day to safety vest up and pick up trash along the Washburn St frontage road. I have been a lifelong Subaru owner and always saw commercials on the different Subaru Loves... but really never saw it in action until this year. I was driving down the highway on my way to work, and I happened to look over to where the dealership is and I saw at least 20+ team members wearing safety vests and out picking up garbage on the frontage road as well as around the buildings. I was so happy to see this, that I called my boss and told him that I would be a little bit late as I wanted to join in a worthwhile cause. My boss never questioned, just said that he would see me when I got in. I took the off ramp and drove to my dealership and asked who I needed to talk to about joining in to help clean up. They had me talk to Brad, and he was surprised that someone had seen what his team was doing and wanted to join. He gave me a vest, garbage grabber and trash bag. Then he walked with me as we picked up the trash either thrown out or blown around the frontage road. I was there for about 10 minutes, but it was the best 10 minutes spent. When I left and continued on my way to work, I called my boss and said that we needed to do something like this at work. My boss thought that I had cracked, but when I shared my brief experience...he was very interested in organizing an Earth Day clean up around our facility/neighborhood. Thank you Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh for sparking another business to follow your lead and help beautify the Earth...not just on Earth Day, but everyday.

Subaru Easter Joy - Diane G.

I've never been one to rave about anyone or anything, let alone a car dealership...but Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh is definitely a step above anyone out there. I arrived with my family to look at vehicles and while we were there one of the staff came up and offered us Easter eggs/treats as part of their celebration. We accepted the treats and our little one was so excited. While we were there we had decided on a vehicle and as we were going over the paperwork our son started to get a bit cranky and was starting to fuss. I tried to walk around with him and nothing was calming him down. Just then the staff member that had offered us the Easter treats came up with a Matchbox toy car for our son. His face lit up and for a brief amount of time, he was happy. But like most people, started to lose interest. Then once again, this gentleman appeared with a soft, foam ball and started to roll it back and forth with our son. We were so amazed that someone was taking the time to entertain our son while we were completing paperwork...that was beyond exceptional service! Our son was entertained by rolling the ball and Matchbox car back and forth, and even showed off his little arm by throwing the foam ball to that amazing team member. I have never felt so seen and appreciated by the team at Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh. It was only afterwards that I had learned that this team leads by following their HEART. My son keeps asking if we can go back and look at cars again...I think that he has a new friend at the dealership, and we have a new 'family'!

Subaru Loves the Earth/Arbor Day Trees - Jim M.

I absolutely love the fact that Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh has partnered again with the National Arbor Day Foundation. They had 100 trees that were specific to the Wisconsin climate and we were able to choose our tree vs reserve a tree like was done last year. Everything was set up very nicely and the staff that was assisting were very accommodating. I was very happy to see that the trees were looking more healthy, even though we were told that some might be 'napping' and just needed some love to 'wake up'. They also had free coloring sheets that were for the kids that came with their parents to select their tree. Also, they had biodegradable pots and a package of flower seeds for 'the pollinators'. That was really an awesome touch! I feel that Subaru truly lives up to their standards of loving the Earth and taking care of those around them. I knew that I loved the Subaru brand before, but with Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh's dedication to helping beautify their communities...I will NEVER look elsewhere for my next Subaru. I love telling my friends and family about this event. Thank you Subaru and Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh for showing your love with your partnerships.

BERGSTROM SUBARU DONATES HUNDREDS OF JACKETS - Jim B.

Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For hundreds of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across our community, this is the reality. Bergstrom Subaru partnered with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. This January, Bergstrom Subaru donated 300 Coats to Father Carr's Place 2B. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it has a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being. At Father Carr's Place 2B, we are so grateful for this gift that will help so many in our community. Every child who comes through our Bethlehem Inn, Food Pantry, or Saint Francis Free Clinic deserves this touch of warmth in their life. Thank you Bergstrom Subaru for this amazing gift.

Feed the Body, Feed the Soul - Brad M.

Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh, along with others, were part of a event to packaging bags of rice for local food pantries serving local families in need. During the 12 hour event, we worked a 2 hour shift alongside our fellow coworkers and other volunteers. The mood was fast and upbeat with the help of the dueling piano's playing contemporary songs and encouraging the volunteers to sing along. I had never done an event like this before, and had seen other Subaru retailers doing similar events and was glad that I was able to participate in this event. After the event was completed, a grand total of 224,448 pounds of rice was bagged and packaged! This event truly lives up to its name...it definitely fed the souls of every volunteer. We are looking forward to participating again next year and making an even bigger impact.

The Subaru love is something to be thankful for at this time of year. - Emily G.

We received a frantic call from our daughter who said that our Outback had died and that they were in the Culvers drive thru. As I tried to calm my daughter down, my partner called Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh to get some assistance. The service department had closed for the weekend and were told that someone would reach out on Monday morning. I decided to head to Culvers to see if there was anything that I could do to get the Outback started and to calm my daughter. As I was on my way, my partner called and said that our delivery specialist, Brad, had seen the message, called and said that he was on his way to help. Brad assured my partner, and our family that we were going to be taken care of and not to worry. I was shocked, but grateful that he was on his way to help. I arrived and tried everything that I could to get the Outback started...to no avail. Within 10 minutes, Brad showed up with his trademark smile and told us not to worry. I said that I couldn't believe that he had dropped everything to come and help us. He gave me that reassuring smile and said, "That's what we are here for. You are part of the Subaru family, and we take care of our own." I have never had this type of response from any other vehicle brand before and this made me realize that I will never own another brand vehicle except for a Subaru! He hopped in the Outback and noted that the battery was dead and that we needed a battery jump. He positioned his vehicle in front of ours and connected the battery cables and was able to successfully and safely jumpstart our Outback. We all breathed a sigh of relief and Brad suggested that we follow him to the retailer so our Outback could be checked out on Monday by the service department. We jumped back into the Outback and our van to follow Brad back to Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh. Little did I know that Brad had called his service manager and secured a loaner vehicle so our family wouldn't be inconvenienced. Everything happened so quickly and efficiently that in my shock, all I could do was give Brad a hug and say "Thank You!" My kids, mother and partner all agreed...Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh is our retailer for life! But more than that, they are part of our FAMILY! As I think back on this, I am reminded that true service doesn’t end at the retailer door. It shows up when you are stranded in the Culvers drive thru, and someone decided that helping is simply the right thing to do.

National Arbor Day and Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh - James B.

WOW! I am so thrilled to say that my two favorite entities, National Arbor Day and Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh, teamed up for a great cause! This year we were able to select a tree that was specifically chosen for this area by the National Arbor Day Foundation, and then when the time was right, we were able to pick up our tree from Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh. Our retailer had 100 trees to be reserved, and at the day of pick up...only 4 trees were unspoken for! I got to the retailer early to get my tree, but to sit and watch the fun of others stopping by to pick up their trees. Kudos to Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh and their team organizer who had an amazing set up and the directional signage was very helpful. Not only did they have the trees ready for pick up, with the new 'parents' name on the specific tree, but they also had a Bake Sale to benefit Make A Wish. So, not only did we get our reserved tree, but some sweet treats too. There was also a free take away, a biodegradable pot with a seed packet for flowers! Thank you again to the National Arbor Day Foundation and Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh for your amazing work!

Subaru Loves the Earth/Earth Day clean up - Jim M.

Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh truly lives the Subaru Love Promise and this year's Earth Day clean up was no different. I have been a proud Subaru owner and this year I was lucky enough to have my service at the same time as the Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh team was out picking up trash from the frontage road and around their buildings. It made me very happy to see many of the team members out in their safety vests and picking up garbage that had either been dropped by careless drivers or blown around from other locations. I was energized by this amazing group of team members who picked up around 6 big garbage bags of trash to go and do the same in my own neighborhood. Kudos to Subaru for making Subaru Loves the Earth a big part of their daily/weekly/monthly/yearly focus. I have looked into ways that I can do the same in my own neighborhood and to get others excited to help beautify the Earth. Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh always has shown their support to their brand and to their communities. Oshkosh is very lucky to have Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh! I look forward to seeing what Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh has in store for next year's Subaru Loves the Earth!

Coats and Shoes, making a HUGE difference in kids in need. - Jim B.

Thanks so much to Bergstrom Subaru for their great generosity to Fr. Carr’s. The donation of coats and shoes, over the past couple of years, have been such great gifts to many children and teens. Just a few examples of people who have been helped are: A family with seven children ages 5-11 (two sets of twins) came as refugees to Oshkosh in fall of 2023. They came with few belongings and moved here from a warmer climate, so had no warm jackets. With the timing of their arrival, they missed out on any local programs to get coats. Their dad had started working, but a large amount of his pay was going to rent and utilities. When the children were able to receive coats from the Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh partnership, it was a huge relief. The smiles were definitely worth more than any payment. You cannot put a price on that! A contact at the local public middle school became aware of a few students who did not have warm coats and knew their families were struggling financially. She tried to find help for them, but again many of the programs were either finished or out of supplies, and Fr. Carr’s was able to get coats to them -thanks to Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh! Another family moved to Oshkosh from Afghanistan. The agency helping them was able to find coats for everyone in the family except one teenage boy. The look of joy on his face when he was given one of the coats was priceless. This is why we are so very thankful and blessed to have Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh as a committed partner. There are many families who are trying very hard to keep their bills paid and their children safe, warm, and fed. Fortunately there are programs and food banks to help feed families, but with increased housing and utility costs, people struggle to buy many other basic needs. The coats and shoes are such great gifts to the children. We are so grateful to Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh for their kindness and generosity. These are just some of the amazing and far reaching benefits our partnership with Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh has accomplished. We are very blessed to have such a wonderful partner. Subaru Loves Learning - Jesse P.

Once again, Valley Christian School was blessed and honored by receiving the Subaru Loves Learning grant to help our teachers provide learning aides for their classrooms. Our teachers were able to get some of the following items for their respective classrooms: weighted stuffed animals for those anxious students, wobble stools, books for classroom libraries, Chromebooks and necessary charging stations, hands-on language arts materials, math manipulatives, varied levels of books for classroom library, sensory/regulation tools, whiteboards and markers, and percussion hardware and mallets. Our teachers also received a much needed 'Teacher Survival Kit' during Teacher Appreciation Week. The teachers especially enjoyed the sweet treats! We are very happy to have such a great partnership with Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh.

Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh - An Incredible Community Partner - Brenda K.

Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh staff were thrilled to continue their longstanding partnership with the patients of Aurora Oshkosh Vince Lombardi Cancer Center this past month. On June 23, several representatives of the Bergstrom team drove to the cancer center in vehicles filled with warm, soft blankets and notes of support for local blood cancer patients. The Subaru Loves to Care Initiative has partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) across the U.S. for the past 10 years in support of LLS’ mission to cure blood cancer and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS staff member, Shannon Ratchman, joined the group and was inspired by the number of Bergstrom Subaru customers who engaged in writing “hearts of hope” messages for local patients. She felt such a “spirit of compassion and collaboration around something so much larger than ourselves”. Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh has gone beyond the delivery of blankets and notes for patients, and has opted to support the LLS Urgent Need Program, Pediatric, which will provide financial relief to blood cancer patients to help offset non-medical costs associated with treatment, such as transportation, food, housing, utilities, etc. On behalf of LLS and the patients and families we serve, thank you for your continued partnership through the Subaru Loves to Care program. We truly couldn’t do what we do without your support, heart and unwavering commitment to our community!

Bergstrom Subaru Teams Up to Support Local Community - Shellee B.

Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Oshkosh, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Bergstrom Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Bergstrom Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/22/2025, Bergstrom Subaru donated 150 coats & 150 shoes/socks to Father Carr's Place 2B. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

Drive for a Cure - Judy T.

I was able to attend the Drive for a Cure event that my Bergstrom Subaru retailer was involved with. It was fun seeing many familiar faces at this amazing event. This team, along with other team members, over the course of 2 days was able to raise over $40,000 for Breast Cancer Research. This was accomplished by driving different vehicles on a pre selected course. I was surprised that this event has a lifetime donation of $660,000 to Breast Cancer Research. This event brings many people together...recent diagnosed cancer patients, current cancer patients under treatment, cancer survivors and those that have experienced the loss of a loved one to cancer. Hearing many stories from these people has helped me be grateful for what I have and for my health. I was able to talk with another participant who was carrying a photo frame with him. I asked why he looked both happy and sad. He said that he and his wife have always attended this event religiously. Then they received the news that his wife had breast cancer and even through the treatments they made a promise to attend the event. This past year, his wife passed away from cancer. He said that he made the promise to his wife that no matter what...he would still attend the Drive for a Cure event and would bring her along. I watched this man walk out to an available vehicle to drive, open the passenger door and buckle his wife's photo in the passenger seat. Then walked to the driver's door, got in and let the emotion wash over him. Then he drove off with his wife by his side as he had done so many years before. I never realized just how much of an impact this event had until that moment.

We got a new Subaru Outback thanks to our partnership with Bergstrom Subaru. This was a great addition for our team/staff. We were thrilled to be receiving another wonderful vehicle from our partners with Bergstrom Subaru. This vehicle is a real testament to Bergstrom Subaru's strong community values and ties. Without the generous support from our friends at Bergstrom Subaru, our team would need to use their personal vehicle, which could be challenging for scheduling and accommodating all of our supplies. Our dental team makes around 200 mobile visits a year, which provides 2,607 appointments and seeing 1,336 children. This Subaru Outback with its amazing AWD has helped our staff make it to and from our different locations in all types of weather! We had one of Bergstrom Subaru's dedicated delivery specialists come out and train our team on all of the features/functions. I cannot tell you how thrilled my team was to have this type of professional dedication to our staff being able to use and understand everything this Outback has to offer. We got a new Subaru Outback thanks to our partnership with Bergstrom Subaru. This was a great addition for our team/staff. We were thrilled to be receiving another wonderful vehicle from our partners with Bergstrom Subaru. This vehicle is a real testament to Bergstrom Subaru's strong community values and ties. Our team has always been using their personal vehicles when going to different locations and at times our staff was either unable to make it to those locations for dental support, or getting stuck. Our dental team makes around 200 mobile visits a year, which provides 2,607 appointments and seeing 1,336 children. This Subaru Outback with its amazing AWD has helped our staff make it to and from our different locations in all types of weather! I wanted to express my gratitude on behalf of all of the children helped by Bergstrom Subaru's generosity in donating much needed winter coats, shoes and socks. To see the smile on the children as they got to pick their new winter coats, and if needed, new shoes and socks. We take these items for granted and when you see the smile appear on these children's faces as they choose their coat/shoes/socks...this means so much to them. It is something that is brand new, and is all theirs. Many of the families that come through Father Carr's place 2B, have had hand-me-downs and may not have had the pleasure of receiving something brand new. Subaru Loves to Help/Operation Warm makes it possible for these children to finally have something that is all theirs. I know that to some people this may seem insignificant, but I wanted to share my experience with Bergstrom Subaru of Oshkosh. I recently had purchased a green Subaru Outback and had only heard of the chewbaru dog toys. When I went back for my Love-Encore, I asked my specialist if there was any way to get the Outback chewbaru. I said that I wanted to display it in my new Subaru and create a talking point with others. Brad said that he would look into locating this Outback chewbaru. In the interim, he offered me a green Crosstrek chewbaru. I was thrilled with even that as an offering. I jokingly said that my birthday was in a couple of days. Brad exceeded my expectations, by sending my a package. When I opened it, I found my green Subaru Outback chewbaru! I truly appreciated that gesture. Not many people would have gone the extra mile to get me something like this dog toy. I proudly display it on my dash and when people ask me about it, I smile and say..."Let me tell you about my Subaru retailer in Oshkosh...".

I was able to attend an event at the Neenah Animal Shelter as a celebration of their new facilities. When I arrived, I was very happy to see that my dealership was being represented...Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh. Their Love-Encore specialist was there and was sharing in the excitement of the day. It was awesome that they had brought a new 2025 Forester to display and let people check out. Subaru does so much for the communities they are a part of, as well as nationally. I was able to not only tour the new facilities, but got to check out the newest Forester on display. I look forward to seeing what Subaru and Neenah Animal Shelter have in store in the future!

Valentine's Day love - Bev M.

I wanted to say how appreciative I am to the gentleman who offered me a flower while I was at Bergstrom Subaru Oshkosh. To be honest, you have no idea how that small gesture made me feel. I recently lost my husband and he always made a big deal that I had flowers for special occasions, such as Valentine's Day. I woke up feeling down already that I wouldn't get any flowers and I didn't want to see others getting flowers as it would make me even sadder. I arrived for my service appointment and after being checked in, I made my way to the guest lounge. In a few moments a gentleman, dressed up in a tux, came and offered me a flower and wished me a Happy Valentine's Day. I wish I had let that man know how much his gesture meant to me, but I also didn't want to be a blubbering fool. I always knew that Subaru cared and showed their love, but this gesture took the Subaru love to the next level. THANK YOU Subaru for providing an exceptional product, but also for training your staff to find ways to make a difference. You made this old woman's heart happy, and I know that my husband was smiling.
